My daughter just ran the mile for her middle school track team less than 18 months after Dr. Zaltz saved her from a lifetime of pain. Dr Zaltz did PAO surgery on both my hips and screw removal on my R and soon to be L also. I am so grateful that doctors like him do what he does and do it with the precision and attention to detail that he does in order to perform life changing surgeries like the PAO. I can confidently say if I hadn’t gotten the first PAO I wouldn’t have been unable to work anymore due to extreme pain and rapid declining in function. Being 23 years old at the time, a total hip replacement was not a very good long term solution and by getting this surgery I now feel a night and day difference in the pain. Most days I forget I ever even had hip pain. As someone who works in physical therapy, he has a great reputation with all the physical therapists I know in the industry and is why I found out about him in the first place. You can tell he really cares about the quality of his work and takes pride in what he does. Thank you Dr Zaltz for giving me my healthy happy hips and therefore my life back

Dr. Zaltz is definitely one of the greatest doctors I have ever seen. He is very experienced, compassionate, and understanding. He has always gone above and beyond the standard of care with me, and I can only assume he does the same for all of his patients. He is more responsive than any other doctor, and probably spends too much time caring about his patients (as evidenced by the evening phone call updates, proving he is taking more time out of his day for his patients). I’ve been a patient of Dr. Zaltz for over 9 years now. He is not only an incredible doctor but also an incredible person. He takes the time to know you and your case. I have never felt like he rushed me through an appointment because he had something better to do. Of course there have been times I left the office frustrated because I felt I needed immediate relief instead of looking at the big picture, but Zaltz is always the doctor I choose to go back to. I feel that no other doctor in Michigan has the skill set and patient success he has had. Yes, his personality is different (a straight and to the point individual) but I would rather have a doctor be that way then not tell me everything. I've been seeing Dr. Zaltz off and on for 8 years for a torn hip labrum. He is excellent and took the time to contact me late one evening, to explain it was time for me to consider getting both hips replaced. Not only have I seen how he is with me, but I've seen how he was with our daughter. He operated on our 20 year old daughter when she was 11 and in 6th grade to address her toe walking that had been treated multiple ways. He read over her file before ever meeting with us. Dr. Zaltz has changed my life. After years of increasing pain and discomfort and not knowing what was going on, I learned I had Hip Dysplasia. Diagnosed by another ortho Dr. and given Dr. Zaltz’s name, I came to see him because I was not able to manage the pain through therapy and physical activity and was only getting worse. Not only has he been patient and informative, He detected my dysplasia was the result of a more rare genetic disorder by looking at my X-Rays. The more I learned about it, the more things made sense with my body. I also learned where it came from in my family history and how it’s effected family members who had never heard of it. AMAZING. Dr. Zaltz did an amazing job fixing my daughter’s femur after a serious injury when she was 5. We took her to a hospital on the east side because it was the closest we could get to after her injury and they recommended that we get her to Beaumont. Dr. Zaltz performed her surgery that night, and she was able to leave the hospital the next day with pins and a removable brace after doctors at the other hospital gave us a spica cast as the only option. We’ve talked to a number of doctors over the years about her injury and most have told us how fortunate we were that she was under his care. It’s been a few years and I honestly feel awful that I haven’t written a review for him yet! Dr Zaltz took me in very quickly when learning about my case of idiopathic chondrolysis. He performed surgery that allowed me to put off a hip replacement for a few years. Something that seemed like couldn’t happen! When the time came that I needed a replacement he sent me to someone who he said he would send his own kids to. It was a success! I had reconstructive hip surgery at the age of 19 and was told over and over again my hip wouldn’t ever be the same, that my range of motion and strength would be limited post surgery but... my hip is stronger than ever and I have Dr. Zaltz to thank for that. Dr Zaltz is an amazing surgeon and a wonderful doctor. He has operated on my minor daughter 4 times with perfect results every time. He is very caring and treats his patients with respect; I'd say as if they were his own children that he was making a decision about when advising on necessity of surgery or what the correct medical decision is. Dr. Zaltz has performed 5 surgeries on my daughter over the past 6 years and he has always, always, answered every question we have, taken the time needed, been stern when she needed and more importantly has been compassionate and very personal. I have had both hips reconstructed by Dr. Zaltz. He is an excellent surgeon and an even better person! He takes the time to explain and answer any questions that I've had and truly cares about his patients. He has called me a few times late on a Sunday evening to discuss test results and imaging. Had periacetabular osteotomy in October. Best decision I ever made!!! Less than 6 months later I have full mobility back in my hip. Am seeing him tomorrow about having the right one done. Dr. Zaltz is professional, thorough and is hands down the best surgeon for this procedure. Dr. Zaltz is a FANTASTIC Doctor. He took the time to explain everything from pre surgery, Post surgery, Hospital stays etc. We LOVED the care he gave our 10 year old son. My son LOVED going to see him as well. We would recommend him to ANYONE! He went above and beyond as a Physician. Dr. Zaltz is the cream of the crop! He deeply cares for his patients and invests all of himself into your care. He is a fabulous surgeon and his bedside manner is amazing! Dr. Zults fixed a hip impingement on both of my sons hips. My son is now pain free and able to resume normal sporting activitys. My son is 15 years old and very active in Tae Kwon Do and school football. I would highly recommend Dr. Ira Zultz to anyone.
