Work with patients/physicians/callers in a polite and helpful manner to book appointments, enter demographic data, insurance information and any other relevant information into the EMR system. Reschedule patient appointments when necessary and relays messages to staff.
Follow up on patients who are missing necessary information.
Answer telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
Maintain and update current information on physician’s schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
Supplement office staff when requested and is receptive to additional assignments/projects as delegated by supervisor.
Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
Assist staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care.
Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members.
Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the EMR system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively within and outside of the organization, able to prioritize, be well organized and multi-task.
- 1- 2 years experience required.
