What Is Ganglion Cyst?
Ganglion Cysts are common masses or lumps in the hand. These cyst are not cancerous are are typically harmless. They commonly develop on the back of the wrist among other locations. The cysts are fluid-filled and can appear, disappear and increase or decrease in size quickly. Ganglion Cysts do not typically require treatment unless they become painful or interfere with normal function. There are several treatment options.
Ganglion Cysts rise out of a joint as a protrusion similar to a balloon. It grows out of the tissues surrounding the joint. The fluid in the cyst is thick and slippery, similar to the fluid that lubricates the joints.
